Wisk Aero, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing, has begun testing its fifth-generation electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. It is reported that the test will take its electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft project one step closer to the sixth generation certification.
Wisk Aero's fifth-generation electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, Wisk Cora, is a fixed-wing autonomous aircraft designed for use in air taxis. The new flight test program will test the autonomous architecture, software interfaces, hardware, and many internal components. The flight tests will also reveal the capabilities of its multiple sensors for autonomous flight.
